What is a Place Portrait?

Over the last few years, increasingly more people are interested in commissioned paintings. Many clients have a specific place in mind – a vacation spot, a special view, a destination for family weekends. When I have the privilege to wander down memory lane and capture these places in paint, I call them “place portraits.”

They capture memories and feelings that will remain no matter what circumstances we find ourselves. Each painting has a personal story and is a true client-artist collaboration. Place portraits share moments of joy, remembrances of family time and the belief that good things are coming our way.
